Brittany J Thurman's debut picture book soars. The unique art style perfectly brings to life a story of that child-like determination we could all do with a little more of. Africa is a character I won't forget. I cannot say enough how incredible Anna Cunha's illustrations are either. The color palette is soft and calming. This is going to live on my shelf forever.

The text/plot of this one is a little weird where the girl is fixated on Double Dutch and how it will make her fly but the art is so beautiful I don't care.

Completely wonderful picture book about double dutch, trying new things, and the adventures of a lovely girl named Africa. The pictures and the words are both gorgeous!Â
