Summary: A marriage, and lots of family lies.

#qotd: do you religiously stick to reading books that go with the season, or not?
I totally just read a summer book on Halloween

Ridiculously unlikely premises but a GREAT read. I loved every minute.

Okay…..I know I rented this as a subway, interstitial read. But the degree of tomfoolery in this book is unmatched. One character suffers enough soap opera machinations for a single book, let alone all, what, seven characters?? Poor Sam has his wife tragically die in a car accident, he adopts her son, stumbles across Harry-Draco fanfic and realizes he’s gay, has sex with a man for the first time and…you guessed it! The man he has sex with (and immediately falls in love with) is the just-jilted fiancée of his 23 year old niece. You can’t make this shit up! Unless you’re Jennifer Weiner, I suppose. TOMFOOLERY

Can you give a book no stars? I almost didn't finish this..Pretty sure every woke cliche is in this book and THEN some...So many characters, all cheating on each other and no one knows who the father is of anyone. Are we really suppose to believe the Dad wouldn't just tell his daughter she could be marrying a half brother? Are we really to believe the daughter is cool with her uncle hooking up with her fiancé 20 yrs younger after the wedding is called off?? Every character was selfish to a gross level. This was my first book of hers and will be my last.

The Summer Place is where family can gather together each year. Unfortunately Ronnie’s family did not make many trips to the summer place but now it will be the site for her granddaughter’s wedding.

A story of multiple generations and how they grew up. I love Jennifer Weiner books because of their focus on family and finding yourself. This book is no different. There are secrets, heartbreak, self discovery and so much more. This is a great beach read for this summer!

I have been on a Jennifer Weiner binge this year. I have LOVED everything from her. I was super excited to receive the arc for this one. However, this one majorly missed the mark for me. This book was a disaster and unbelievable. The affairs and family drama that takes place is so convoluted and far fetched. I finished the store but was utterly disappointed.
