Christopher Lee makes a thrilling narrator, fully embodying his characters with his rumbling tones. There are a few really excellent stories in this collection that show how good Christie is at creating dread and fear. SOS, Wireless, and Philomel Cottage could practically be Hitchcock films with their eeriness and anxiety. Second Gong was rewritten to become a longer story called Dead Man's Mirror, and the longer version is much better.

Amei este conto. Tenho de admitir que desconfiei da verdade, mas não tive certeza até o final. Bem pensado, e muito bem elaborado. A rainha do crime sempre se superando, pelo menos para mim.

A quick novella - a bit more predictable than the average Agatha Christie, but a fun short read.

Are the insane twists over twists over twists worth the constant misogyny? Unclear
