Okay. Quite literary, but missed the mark for me. Slightly boring. Appreciated characters and their changes.

The first half was really tough for me to get through, mainly because of the pov. However, in the end i'm glad i pushed through instead of DNF'ing.

The story in the novel is heartbreaking and overall what kept me reading. I would agree with a lot of the reviews that the perspective being from a child was off putting, I feel like the story would have felt more real and raw if it had at least switch perspectives between the mom and Jack.
