Okay, this was... short. Way too short. And it was so promising!
But the thing which made me hate this short story the most was Simon's behaviour towards Izzy - he was such a annoying cry-baby, so undecided, so insecure... God, be a man! It was as if I saw my ex-boyfriend once again! What made it even easier to imagine was that my ex-boyfriend could be a Robert Sheehan lookalike. I think their similarity will be haunting me forever and ever. Ew.
But the ending was interesting. And very, very sad.

Helen deserves better. Simon and Izzy are pretty cute. Also I want someone to take me on a date to get a sword.

i can't believe simon still hasn't ollied out of the academy

like literally the conclusion of each story is shadowhunters are racist assholes?

he claims they also do a lot of good but seeing as none of the stories ever highlight this it's kind of hard to really feel his point

anyways this is yet another story about shadowhunters and their belief in collective guilt

also a very obvious lead in to lady midnight

it was okay i guess? idk, the shadowhunter academy story formula is beginning to wear a bit thin

YAAAS! Simon and Izzy finally found a way back to each other's heart. I read the story Ellen told with tears in my eyes. What happened to her was so unfair. Could the so superior Clave think that there are others good and pure at heart other than their precious Shadowhunters? Guess not.

Although not much happened in this novella, I really enjoyed all of the Sizzy scenes. ❤️ Also, learning more about Helen Blackthorn's backstory was really interesting. All of the faerie stuff made me really excited to read Lady Midnight!

“This is how a faerie loves: with her whole body and soul. This is how a faerie loves: with destruction.”
I feel so bad for Helen . shadow hunters can be so cruel sometimes . Also the real story about Helen's father and the fairy Lady he loved was so good . I really did not expect that . That's really heartbreaking ... Everybody should learn the real story starting with Helen and her dead father .
