I almost gave this four stars because it upset me so much- I went to see a new play by the guy who had written some of the funniest plays of recent memory (Fuddy Meers, Kimberly Akimbo, and Wonder of the World are all genius) and I was blindsided by how sad this was. That said, it is a beautifully written play and a really good exploration of how people deal with grief.

A play that had a fertile premise with interesting dynamics and characters but kept it at medium. I thought for a moment it was going to be an intense and disturbing drama but it very quickly fizzled out into something more vague and trite with a slightly metaphysical flavor. It flirted with enormous emotional depth but was overall lightly melancholic and underneath the artificial grittiness was vanilla and wholesome, like a Norman Rockwell portrait of the grieving process. It ultimately wasn't bad but wasn't good either and it was sweetly quaint in its way. Not especially memorable.

definitely a play that i vibe with tonally, especially how it starts from places of comedy and skirts around the obvious. the restraint is really great. i do feel like the end feels a little tidy? but at the same time many things are left up in the air and it's never overly sentimental, which i loved.

This was a really emotional play that looked at loss and how people cope. It was kind of heavy but not overly dramatic. It was realistic to the point of being very relatable. I really liked it.

Absolutely beautiful! I want to do this show now. Powerful portrayal of grief and life after loss.

This play is obviously really sad as it is about grief. I think it does well at covering the topic but I almost wish it had been longer and told more of the characters’ story.
