What would you do with an eternity of self reflection and the inability to die for more than one day before resurrecting in bed? This wasn't just dark, but disturbingly reflective.

Edit: I've changed from 4 stars to 5 stars because this book has stuck with me. I think about it regularly, it lingers in the back of my head waiting to cleave whatever good mood I had.

A chilling short story that felt longer than it was, but in a good way. I didn’t like the ending but I’ll never stop thinking about it.

This novella is fascinating because it follows unfathomable lengths of time spent in Hell and yet it's only 108 pages. The endless repetition and sameness of Hell was truly uncomfortable to experience as a reader. This is quite an enjoyable psychological horror story!

Lovely book, reflective, beautifully written and the premise is impecable. I found myself really thinking about life, afterlife, and what makes life worth it. So so good!

One of the most interesting short stories I've read in a long time. It was challenging to deal with the immensity of the situation but it was an interesting thought experiment that I really loved. Also, it's wickedly funny.
