Honestly, this book was, in the words of my mother, "foul". I think the author was attempting to go for romantic and sensual, but I cannot take him seriously. After reading lines like "her clitoris was palpitating in her panties" for nearly 100 pages, I gave up. This book is a textbook example of a man trying and failing to write a woman. She had no depth of character, was constantly infantalized and over sexualized by the author and the love interest, and was just boring. I realize it's hard to write a prostitute without having sexuality being a major theme, but this was unreal.

A book that I did not enjoy at first but grew to begrudgingly love. It really explores the complications of how difficult it can be to allow one's self to open up their heart again.
