One must truly apprecite the strangeness of the original youtube phenomenon to be able to apprecite this book. The lyrics/text is the straight from the original song and fans of the song will definitely want to sing this book aloud. My 4 year old nephew LOVES this song and he very much needs to own this book. (I'll work on that.) The illustrations are fittingly strange where that animals all look a little crazy and often have masks. It's a good translation from the video format to the book format and kids will want this read to them again and again.

The illustrations are in muted colors but very fun! I love that you can sing this book to the toon of the song or read it out loud. Or even play the song and show the pictures!

This book is great. While it is mostly the lyrics of the you tube hit the illustrations put it over the top.

This is undoubtably one of the goofier songs to come out in the past few years. This book is based on all the lyrics, and adds fantastic illustrations. I LOVED the illustrations! They're whimsical and a bit surrealistic. They are a bit reminiscent of Picasso's work. Really fun! A must read for all those kids obsessed with the video.

The stars here are purely for the illustrations - they're a little bit kooky and a whole lot of fun. Huh...just like the lyrics to the song and the entire video.
I do think I'd be tempted to read this to the grandchildren, but only if I can dance around in a fox costume and use auto-tune.

Funny, like the song. And for that I can appreciate it. But It's literally the lyrics to the song. With pictures.
