This was a fun, fast read!
Although the book is a bit predictable, it is still a lot of fun to read it and it is very enjoyable. It goes fast and a few things happen, therefore you don't feel as if the plot is dragged out.

An unfortunate accident in the past, selfish rash decisions and, of course, the consequences to those decisions have no statute of limitations, especially in the eyes of those victimized.

There was a little thing in the end that shaved off half a star for me. That little reveal didn't work for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for allowing me to read this fun book!

I think this is my third or fourth novel by Rijks and I have to say I think it is possibly my favourite. While at the start I was not a fan of Leonie I think she turned out to be one of my favourite protagonists Rijks has created.

Make her Pay is a very pacy thriller when it gets going. I actually liked how the pace builds around the plot, it starts a little slower and then begins to build the tension and suspense. One thing I did like in this one is how we find out who is wanting to make Leonie pay and while this might normally make the tension die a little I think it did the complete opposite. Because we know partly what is happening, thanks to the duel POVs, we become more tense wondering if they will work it out and what will happen.

The writing is perfectly suited to this, particularly with the type of characters and the build up. I really liked how realistic the characters were, even though some were absolutely awful. I will say it’s hard to go into great detail without offering up spoilers but I did love this one. The pacing and twists were fantastic and I was so happy to see Leonie get the somewhat happy ending she deserved as well. If you love thrillers this one is for you.

Not a bad story, short and gripping but also a tad ridiculous. Especially those parents!!

Well written but just not exciting or thrilling. Just boring.

Make her pay by Miranda Rijks is a psychological thriller that follows Leonie and Carrie. Leonie grew up with overprotective parents who controlled many aspects of her life. At 16 years old Leonie gets into a hit-and-run accident and now carries the guilt of that accident with her. She tries to put it in the past, but it has taken it's toll on her mentally. Carrie is the victim of the hit-and-run accident and is having a difficult time moving past it. She is out for revenge and Leonie is her target. I didn't find either of these characters particularly likable but I was still interested to see how Carrie would get revenge on Leonie. This audio kept my interest but I found some of the plot line unrealistic/believable. Still an enjoyable read that is worth giving a listen to.

Read if you enjoy:
* psychological thrillers
* secrets and lies
* a dual POV
* twists and turns
* suspence
* revenge
* unlikeable main characters

Setting of the story is in the UK
Characters 3/5 stars
Plot 3.5/5 stars
narration 3/5 stars

Narration: I had a difficult time with the narration of this audio. The accents were difficult for me to understand at the speed I typically listen to audio books. I usually listen to them at 2.0-2.5 speed. This one I had to listen at 1.5 to understand. The narrators tone and inflection were not an issue and they did voice different characters nicely. I would recommend listening to a sample if possible. Since I had a difficult time with the narration, I think I would have enjoyed this more if I read it on my kindle.

I would recommend this book for anyone who is a fan of Miranda Rijks and for readers who enjoy psychological thrillers or books about revenge.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for an advance listeners copy of this audiobook. I voluntarily listened and gave an honest review.

I was hooked from page 1 of this book and loved every second of it but the ending? That last chapter felt so rushed to be finished that it didn’t really clear much up. Such a good book with just a lacklustre ending.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the electronic copy of Make Her Pay to read and review.

The story follows Leonie who has met the perfect guy Markus but things keep going wrong. Could it be her past coming to haunt her?

This was such a quick, easy read for me. Fast paced and engrossing. It was the perfect palate cleanser between fantasy books.

It reminded me of Freida McFadden's work and I think any fans of hers would love this too.

The characters aren't particular well developed or likeable but for entertainment purposes it's a great short read.
