Not in the mood to pick up such a long fantasy series - might begin again another time.

I hated putting this book down. Great pace, intrigue, loved the characters. Things were slow when Katsa and Po traveled to his sister's home. Great ending.

I enjoyed this book more my second time around - I definitely felt more open to the love story. The background was well done - I grew to love these characters so much. Very enjoyable, well written.

It’s been a while since I’ve picked up and really loved a YA book. I will be reading the others in the series.

It’s alright.

To be completely honest, the ending was much better than the beginning. I flew through the ending faster, just because it has a faster pace to it. It was also hard for me to connect with the character in the beginning, since they all seem so flat, and Katsa’s narration seems so monotone.

That’s why I felt as if it was just boring and dragging. The plot itself is also lacking in sophistication, like the battle is not really intense, if you know what I mean. Either we don’t see the battle, or it’s super fast.

But toward the end, I started loving Katsa and Po, but especially Bitterblue. Bitterblue is the best like queen/child/daughter/person/character ever!
