I received an this ARC from Netgalley for an honest review

This book is funny, fast-paced, and exciting. I especially appreciate the diversity of the author using Indian mythology, rather than the usual Greek and Roman stuff that most books rely on. Not that I don't love Greek and Roman but I really enjoyed learning more about Hindu mythology. I like that the author included a glossary of terms with pronunciations too.

Aru Shah and the End of Time is going to be one of those books that I go to for summer reading recommendations. I can't wait for the sequel!

DNF. I love the attempt to diversify the current literature by adding legends and folklore from other countries, but I lost interest in the story pretty quickly.

AWWW this was cuteee! I love Roshani and this was such a great chance to learn more about mythology and go on this journey with Aru. I loved her inner voice so much and I could just squish her, she is so sweet and loveable and you root for her all the way!! It was humorous and tender and emotional, and the characters were really fun and seemed to leap off the page. This didn't necessarily grip me as much as I'd hoped... maybe just because I've outgrown middle grade? But it didn't feel like it necessarily delivered anything new. Which sounds reallypretentious I'm sorry LOL but that's just the reason I couldn't give it a 5 star! Is it still good? Oh absolutely! Go pick this up right now besties!

Wow!!!! I seriously didn't expect to love it this much. It reminded much of your usual Rick Riordan book -and I say this as the best of the compliments! It was soft, magical, funny and full of life lessons presented in the most simple of their forms. Actually, I can say that I 100% liked it better than the first Percy Jackson book, and that says a lot.

While it does have a lot of Rick Riordan's spirit in it, it is also much more. I especially enjoyed the relationship between Aru and Mimi, they were wonderful and lovely, the perfect sisters. I love that Aru had problems being a good person, that her lying was not shown as a good thing and that she had to fight for it to become a good quality. The writing was also incredibly beautiful.

What I especially love is the potential it has. Like, I'm vibrating of excitement for the next books. The picture Chokshi paint of the future... amazing, breathtaking, 100/100 can't wait. Loved it, loved the concept.

Overall, an excellent book recommended to everyone!
