This was a decent read although I prefer the thriller without the romance. Gerritson creates atmosphere and pace really well. The characters are all a bit "formulaic" of thats the right word I didn't really care for any of them.

Good ending but think it could have been played out a bit more!

I'd heard only good things about Tess Gerritsen, but found this disappointing.
The novel started with a bang (literally), but it was downhill from there. I found the characters one-dimensional and unbelievable; I can understand that circumstances like Nina's and Sam's may lead to relationships forming, but I found the outcome of their relationship a little unbelievable considering the bland build up.
By the end of the novel I was bored and glad it was over.

Keeper of the Bride is one of those old school romantic mysteries. You know, the ones where guns have unlimited bullets and when the hero gets shot he still manages to save the girl before he finally gets dragged off to hospital under protest.
It's good entertaining fluff. Well worth a look but only if you like fluff. I for one do.

This book contains two stories.
Story 1 has a young woman whose wedding was targeted by a bomber, joining forces with a detective to hunt down the bomber.
Story 2 has an English gentleman joining forces with a cat burglar to thwart the murderous plans of an evil business tycoon.

Cliches abound.

I think this is one of her older books and it shows a little. I enjoyed reading it but all throughout I wondered why Nina wasn't in some sort of official protective custody instead of running around with Sam. Yes, I know it was a plot device for the relationship, but I live in Portland and I hope our police department wouldn't act that way. Would they?
Anyway, it's a good read and I love the Portland setting with so many familiar places. Ms. Gerritsen is one of the best at thrillers.

As I'm reading I keep thinking this is unlike Gerritsen's typical writing and more like a Harlequin novel. Turns out she wrote it for a Harlequin series. Not my style.
