Featuring a man who outwits and undermines the systems meant to terminate the Jews, Schindler’s List recounts the many scandalous exploits Oscar Schindler deploys as he manages to save the lives of those whose names were on his list.

I understand that this book comes well reviewed as well as the movie. I’ve read NUMEROUS WWII books and this has to be by far the worst. I really struggled to finish and it took me a long time to read but I pushed through as I didn’t want a DNF on such a book and kept waiting for it to get better. It wasn’t the material of the book that bothered me, it is the way it’s written that I found it really confusing to follow and get into the story. Couldn’t wait yo write my review even though I understand I’m probably the sole person who feels this way. However, I have yo give it two stars and not one because it did get better at the end. By chapter 27 (there are 38 chapters btw) I was actually enjoying the book. In my opinion that’s way to long to grab my attention but I am glad that I finished it.

(NL-editie) DNF’d at 14%. My parents didn’t raise a quitter but this is the worst book I have ever read. Schindler was an absolute hero in my opinion and despite the beautiful movie they made about him and his great actions, he didn’t deserve this piece of trash. I would’ve loved to read his story and actually enjoy it but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be.. 💔🥺

The first time I read this book it was part of my High school English reading curriculum… I cried… and not once … it’s a very emotional and graphic novel based on historical events that nowadays people tend to forget like it never happened. Very saddening and heartbreaking that the humanity was so cruel and immoral no wonder it’s easier for some to just forget or never learn about the gruesome past.

I tried so hard to like this book but I got about 50 pages into the book and I still couldn’t get into it. Maybe it was the writing, but something just kept making my mind wander during the book that I couldn’t focus on the story.
