Don't let the 17 hour listening time deter you from giving this book a try.

In this novel, we follow the life of Maria Feodorovna who was the mother of the last tsar of Russia. It is told in first person from the point of Maria, herself. The story begins when she is an adolescent and continues until the mist of the Russian Revolution.

I cannot speak to the historical accuracy of this Historical Fiction book but it has made me want to read more about Russian history.

The narrator's was almost lyrical. She did an amazing job with this reading. I felt along with Maria during all of her hardships and the narration really drove it home.
