Sweet graphic novel for early readers on the subject of death. As many other reviewers have pointed out, likening dead Aunt Betty to the dead leaves they are stomping on is a little jarring for the first couple pages, but the story definitely rights itself by the end. I appreciated that it also wasn't just a message about mortality and the "circle of life" but also about treating those in your life well because they won't be around forever.

Throwing a dead "friend" or comparing a family members death to dead leaves on the ground disturbs me a little but I understand the context the author was trying to portray. It addresses making amends after someone passes away.

Benny and Penny find a dead salamander and decide to give it a proper burial and sendoff. Feelings like grief and regret (and yes, happiness) are exhibited by various characters. I think the story is important, but Berry is a little too young for the frames yet.
