his review will serve for the entire series!
Upon finishing it, all I can think is: "this was amazing,".
What a brilliant, fresh, fantasy world with a major focus on cooking on your adventure! All of the characters are relatable in some way. They feel so very "human" although many are not (lol). The world building is extremely interesting and the author goes into much more detail than I expected.
There are so many beautiful illustrations of food! But I would like to emphasize that the Kui's art just gets leaps and bounds more detailed and stunning as the chapters go on. The growth in her craft was wonderful see, not only from a succinct, satisfying story telling, but also in her drawing as well!
The story begins as a slice of life story, but there are more complex themes just waiting for you to find them just under the surface. I don't want to spoil anything though! Go read it!
