This book was amazing, it was not what I expected at all. It was like I felt the same things Lake felt. Everyone has to know what it feels like to have a forbidden love, or a relationship that we know we can't have. It broke my heart to read about Will and Lake going back and forth, when all I was doing was rooting for them to be able to be together. I can't imagine what her and Will had to go through by both losing their parents. It was a bittersweet love story, that I was very disappointed to read the last sentence and know that it was complete, until I realized that there is a second book in the series! I look forward to reading the second book!

Eh. Hard to get behind this one. I like the integration of creative writing and poetry. I enjoyed the parent-child dynamics between the main character and her family. I could not ever get behind the main story line, got the ick due to the teacher-student dynamic and couldn’t get my mind to support them as a couple, even with the things that attempt to justify it.

Although the writing in this book is captivating and amazing, the story itself it's just ok. As I started the book I felt like Will and Lake were moving a bit too fast since they went on a date like three days after they met. The final balance is that there are just too many sad things going on for me. Despite a cute ending, I don't think it's a super amazing book but it was good to pass some time.

I'm so angry this book doesn't just exist, but it's a bestseller. And they let this woman continue to publish books. I hate everything.

The most intense case of instalove I’ve ever read. They literally spend know time together and they’re in love. Very little character development. No relationship with the characters.
I’m disappointed. You know how much I love Colleen’s books.
