It was a really fun and also sad book, but I didn't like the whole situation with all of the men and how that turned out. I was expecting more of a girl power ending I guess. However, I still loved this book and it was such an interesting world to dive into, despite historical fiction not usually being my forte. I loved the transformation of Nell throughout the book.

The cast of characters, the settings, the plot, the dialogue-all written so well! Nothing felt anachronistic and pulled you out of the story. Would give a higher rating but I just didn’t like the characters, but they were well written!
