After Mythos, I have been labouring over Heroes. I'll keep this review short and sweet. I absolutely love this series by Fry, intriguing how stories of oral tradition have landed on my lap in this little book.

What really helped me with this addition is the organisation of the content. Separated by hero and then further into little subsections based on where the hero was taken. It made reading about many (and I mean many) characters make more sense in my mind, helping with the separation.

Fry's humour saves this novel as well, as I've realised moving quickly through each story doesn't allow character attachment whatsoever. And that is exactly what I crave when I read. So maybe not the novel for me but nonetheless I did enjoy myself.

I enjoyed these stories even more than those in "Mythos," and it's a GREAT audio book to listen to. I should prob admit that the 5 stars from me is probably heavily weighed by my general love of Greek mythological stories

Brilliant re-tellling of the Greek heroic myths and follow-up to the first book Mythos! The way the author tells it is very accessible and amusing to read, with helpful footnotes to help keep track of where the ancient places in the text are today and the very, VERY complicated family tree (all heroes are related to each other in some way, that's basically all you really need to know).

Would definitely recommend this book to anyone new to or already avid fans of Greek mythology.
