Based on Mr. James Promise School, this is a story that teaches children to set goals - make promises to themselves.

Reviewing as a part of my Fall 2020 kids' books reviews!

This is a really good primer on just being a good person. It's a bunch of promises, to no one in particular but probably just ones self, that really feel like mantras to be a cooperative, kind, passionate human, and to encourage kids to stay in school. With a very slight basketball theme.

The illustrations are great too, and geared for contemporary, diverse, real classrooms.

Hardcover from my place of work, Oxford Exchange in Tampa, Florida.

I loved this. I read this to my summer camp as a read aloud and they were happy.

I enjoyed the rich illustrations and the message the book conveys to the readers.

This was another Libro.fm ALC listen for me, and while quick I enjoyed it, imaging how kids might really enjoy hearing from a sports figure that they look up to. Again, I am sure that seeing the images would make the experience much more powerful than listening to it, but it was still an enjoyable listen with a positive message.
