I'll be honest I found this through booktok, and sold me on to some steamy shit so why did I feel a little bit betrayed...
I Love love LOVE the first part, you know, the one where they can't communicate (cause he's deaf and hot) and it is really a captive/captor moment that was really good that part alone 5 stars.
But man.....
the crime part kicks in.....
and it's like soo long, maybe I just wasn't in the mood for that at the time but I really had to pull myself through that part, on a better day I might come back to change my review.
For now I'm settling on 3 stars

So confusing in the last 50 to 60 pages of the book. Especially when the twists revealed I was a bit lost and the court case seemed so rushed and not talk about enough to make it a plausible plot point.

um… im only giving it 2 stars bc it’s a happy ending. i was confused the whole time reading this.. im also not a fan of the falling for your captor trope bc it’s weird. def gave stockholm syndrome vibes.
