I read this book to complete the #TBRTakedown challenge of reading a book outside my comfort zone. I've never been into zombie movies and until this book, I've never read any books with zombies. Overall, I just thought this book was okay.. Some parts really grossed me out... Parts of it seemed rushed and like we didn't get to learn a lot about the world.. Or there just wasn't enough world building I suppose... I did think it was interesting and I liked the changes the main character, R, went through... If you are really into zombie movies/books you'll probably like it.

I don't think I could love this book more. R's struggle is all the more compelling for how gradual and subtle it is. Marion fully delivers--and it's a wonderfully fresh story for the genre. I was totally convinced by this zombie falling in love. Marion's writing, too, is sharp and clean and compelling. Highly recommended.

I read this as part of book club and I didn't really enjoy it - it didn't have a remotely believable plot. There were a lot of plot holes. I thought it was a better book than Twilight, but not by much. It was ok as a light hearted book. I won't be reading this again.

With the movie coming out soon, I figured I'd give this a go. I'm one of those weirdos who like the book before the movie on occasion.

I really enjoyed this. Super original. Laugh out loud funny moments, sad moments. Very vivid emotionally despite the levity of its subject.
