I adore original Pride and Prejudice the book and I looked forward to reading this graphic novel as another way of experiencing the story.
Sadly, I felt that it lost some of its magic in this version. Ultimately, I didn’t feel like illustrations contributed to the story telling. I had hoped for images that were beautiful translations, amusing facial expressions, and other ways of communicating through pictures that aren’t captured through words. This fell flat for me in these ways.
I still enjoyed the book but I believe that was due to Jane Austen and my love for the story.

I do enjoy the story but the language trips me up. I enjoyed the illustrations as well- they contributed to my understanding of the story.
