Summer reading with the kiddos. We all loved hearing of the adventures they had on their big move and starting their new farm.

So sweet and wholesome. A great addition the original Little House Series. I will definitely be on the look out for the rest of Rose’s adventures, because they are a great quick read, and help me through tough times. Pioneering in America is one of my fave time periods to read about and these books just give that childish whimsy and wonder to it.

Reading this book brought me back to my childhood dreams of wishing I could have lived in the "pioneer times." Some of that was kind of shattered later on in this book because of one aspect about it. If you have arachnophobia, don't read this book unless you want some "exposure therapy". I almost didn't want to finish it once I came to that. :P But it was worth it to finish, it was a good book.

I read this one as a little girl. Enjoyed it, but not as much as the original stories by/about Laura Ingalls Wilder. I honestly don't remember much about it, but it was a very long time ago. I'd estimate 5th grade? But I could have been younger...

I liked this a lot. It was a very nostalgic read and I feel that although it can't top the original series, I definitely enjoyed it and would read the next book.

I did not want to put this down. It has been many years since I read The Little House series but this story took me right back! It's always fun to return to familiar characters - who in this case were real people - and learn more of their story.
It feels genuine without copying Laura's story. Rose is definitely different than her mother was as a young child based on this book. I feel the author did his research, can't wait to read the rest.

I guess seeing as I seem to think I read this I won't count this as a book for the challenge but I did not like it upon apparently rereading it. Rose is not a sympathetic character even as a child.
