I think that after 24 hours of reading this book, it’s fair to say that I can’t stop thinking about foul lady fortune. (Also can I just say that I literally met Chloe Gong yesterday?? AND gave her two friendship bracelets that she loved

I absolutely loved these violent delights so getting another book in the same world was a dream come true. Although Rosalind wasn’t initially one of my favourite characters I absolutely loved foul lady fortune. Essentially Rosalind became immortal and could heal from most wounds due to an injection she received (captain America and Bucky vibes); due to her previous betrayal of the scarlets she views this chance as a way to redeem herself by going after former white flowers with her new abilities. Let me tell you I absolutely loved it when she just let herself get her throat slit and then watched to see the others reaction to it healing before killing him; the giggle I let out.
In a way she also got what she was after in the these violent delights series; power, although not in the way she thought.

Rosalinds new mission leading to her fake marriage to Orion, which this book centred around, was also interesting. We got to see how Rosalind changed, as well as this new tender relationship forming between her and Orion. It was also nice that we got some other povs such as Celias and the relationship between her and Oliver is something that I really want to see develop further in the next book!

It was nice to have Roma and Juliette mentioned again.

The end bought surprises and twists that I was not expecting, with the identity of the killer and priest both being revealed.

If you read Last violent call you can also see how the events line up between the two books, with a new light being shined on the ending, providing an idea of how the next book is going to play out. Other details also make more sense, such as the married couple who operate the underground weapon ring briefly mentioned!

Would be a five star read if the absolute last "twist" wasn't predictable
