The first half of this book was intriguing, but my attention started waning after that. I think this book could easily have been half the length and the two main plot lines condensed. While I think it did a good job of illustrating the patriarchal Puritan society, I suspect the way things play out is wildly unrealistic.

Too intense - picture of domestic violence and gaslighting too much

I rarely don't finish a book, and I love the time period and subject matter, but I just couldn't. Thou and thee and just... didn't come off as super believable.

First 50% is slow going but its oh so good! It you like realistic historical accounts of witches this is the book for you! Its basically a more realistic version of the Salem TV series which I loved as well!

Strong women and Devil's Tines

Immediately engaging, I enjoy books where the characters are done right. Thomas made me spitting mad and I wanted to throttle him myself. I was quite pleased with the way the story wrapped up and I learned plenty about the Puritans. Great read!
