Really dislike Lena. So much so I can't stand to read about her and her miserable attitude.

Sometimes these books are hard to read because the suffering in them can be too real. However, I cannot put them down and the characters are amazing.

Definitely lacking compared to her other books I’ve read and not as interesting as the previous ones in the series.I still got through it no problem, but if it was the first in the series I probably wouldn’t read more.

The plot in this one was not as strong as the first 2 in the series, and I really didn't even know who the killer was by the end when revealed. I love Lena and Sarah, so of course I will be continuing this series.

I think I need to take a break from this series. I enjoyed this book, but not as much as the previous two. Lena just annoyed me, and I hated that Tessa got dragged into the mystery. It was just awful, and I'm not sure that I'm ready to read the next one. I also didn't love that the killer ended up being someone we've met before, it just didn't feel right or jive with what we knew about character. 3 out of 5 stars.

4.5 stars. Definitely the best Grant County book so far! It kept me guessing until the very end. Didn’t get the full 5 stars bc I thought it could have been a bit shorter. But overall a great book and another one that brings so much humanity to Lena.

I really feel like this book developed in a way I never expected and I really liked it. From the beginning, I kept trying to guess who was responsible for all the horrific acts, but it was a really good twist at the end. Honestly, it was a little unexpected because there were zero hints or nods towards it until the last couple of chapters except for two brief moments in the beginning and middle of the book. I was thankful two characters I didn't really like were taken out (LITERALLY) as a result of it all. Overall, of the 3 books I've read in this series, this one is tied for #1 with Kisscut. 4.5/5 stars.
