pros:
funny
cute romance plot
cons:
insufferable main character
YA feel even though the characters are in their late 20’s
if i wasn’t so stubborn, i may not have finished this book. the main character was so frustrating and immature, i wasn’t rooting for her at all.
there were little to no descriptions of character’s appearances and their personalities were explained, not shown, so it all felt dull and one dimensional.
i would consider myself a feminist, but the way “feminist” ideals were portrayed in this book were a bit on-the-nose and cringey.
lastly, i may be an annoying american but i had to look up a lot of things that were british slang i didn’t understand. and the author used ‘ instead of “ to show quotations? is that a thing?? it definitely threw me off.
i wanted to love this book…but i didnt. the plot had potential but was not executed well.
