this book talks about grief in such a personal and relatable way. the way Liam struggles and feels lonely killed me.

I actually have no words.

This book was an emotional roller coaster. It talks about grief, losing someone and learning how to live with it. It talks about how losing someone can affect your relationships with your friends. I could not stop reading this book, I finished it in two days and if I didn't have to work, it would've been finished in one day (which doesn't actually happen that often).

Liam lost their brother and has no idea how to deal with it. Their friends are absolutely horrible (One of his friends even said he knows how they feel but still tried to push them to talk about it??? Everyone deals with grieve in their own way, trying to force someone to talk about it is an absolute no go and it made me dislike both of their 'friends').
Liam gets closer to Marcus, Ethan (Liam's brother) best friend and Liam discovers secrets about Ethan and Marcus.

Not only is this a great book about grieve but it also deals with coming out, choosing not to come out, selfharm, suicidal thoughts.
It also has a lot of LGBTQ+ rep. Liam is non-binary and gay. Vanessa is bisexual, Joel is a trans boy and bisexual and there's more.
Honestly I thought this book was gonna have romance (since it's tagged as a romance book) but now I'm really glad it didn't have romance. They could just deal with Liam's grief and their feelings.
I said this about more books but this is totally one of my favorite books this year so far.

i read this book in a day. it was a really good but sad read. i cried. it dealt with grief and how that effects a young person. it was really relatable. i thought about my dad a lot while reading it. theres a lot of things the book talked about that most people dont when it comes to losing a family member. like when you are happy or laugh for the first time and you don’t remember but that moment ends and you feel stupid for forgetting. of when you make dead people jokes. or that laughing a funerals is the only way to get threw them. its was hard for me to read because of it but it was one of those days yk

For someone who is scared of everything that has to do with death I read way too many books that revolves about that topic

oh the tears have come around in many different parts of the book. having to see liam struggle with his relationships with the overarching grief of their brother was very hard to read, considering that a lot of people has experienced something in the same caliber. the book was a little heavy in terms of content, and i'm a little disappointed that we didn't get to see more of some of the other characters and how they reacted to ethan's death. but i do understand that the whole story is more of a study into liam's character, and that's what i liked because we didn't see a sugarcoated story.
