This book picks up where the previous novel ended; Kate and Nick were about to get it on in Hawaii, when Nick is kidnapped. Kate goes on the hunt to track him down, whilst Nick does what he does best and talks the kidnappers out of killing him and into a partnership.

Dragan Kovic is a Serbian diamond thief known for his “smash and grab” heists, but for his next target he needs a more elaborate approach. Obviously Nick Fox is the only man for the job, and of course Kate and their motley crue of con-artists get pulled into the plan.

I really enjoy these books; they are entertaining, full of energy and action packed. I have to admit to not enjoying this novel as much as the previous ones in the series. Evanovich is normally really good at recapping the recurring characters in her novel, but this time there were a few characters I felt didn’t get a good introduction. I am quite familiar with Jake, Kate’s dad, Boyd the actor who over thinks everything, and Willie the blonde Texan speed junkie, but I really couldn’t remember much about the rest of the gang. Also, I hate to say it, but there weren’t nearly as many laugh-out-loud moments either.

Overall it was an entertaining read, and I will be reading the next book in the series when it is released.

I enjoy these books. I like the slyness of Nick and the excitement of him and Kate together. The whole group is back together in this great story...

Once again, a really fun, light read! I particularly liked this one, because I just visited the Paris catacombs a month ago... So it was very cool to read about a place I had just visited!

I love Nick Fox and Kate O'Hare. These books are such guilty pleasures for me. I just wish there were more of them! Oh, and you have to give props to the coolest dad ever too.

Going to save the next one to listen to as an audiobook on my drive to Montana. Hopefully won't drive off the road laughing.

A very satisfying conclusion to The Scam. Evanovich, rather solo or with a co-author, never disappoints. I can hardly wait for the next Fox & O'Hare adventure!
