I absolutely loved this story! I loved that we got to revisit these characters and learn more about their story and how they got together and watch them complete their story with a third person in their relationship. I loved watching them build, and rebuild, the relationship between the 3 of them. Kincaid and Ronin were together in a triad relationship years ago. Things went wrong with their female at the time and then Kincaid disappeared on Ronin. Ronin didn't realize what had happened to Kincaid shortly after he left. Kincaid has been trying to figure out who he is after the tragic accident and to rebuild the life that he let fall apart. Julia and Ronin are great together and are in a great place in their life. I love the way that these two communicated with all of the stuff going on. That is how they made their relationship work and how they make potentially, and in reality, adding a third to work. This story was a little on the shorter side but we get to see all three of them build the relationship together and as pairs. There is also a little action within day to day kind of things. Nothing life or death but there are problems that they have to work through that stem from their past. There was plenty to grab my attention and hold it for the entire book. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to revisit these guys and watching Ronin and Julia get all they deserve.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is Ronin and Julia’s story that is continuing it gives us more of the couple that we’ve met previously. The couple has been through many ups and downs but made it through and succeeded. They are married now and enjoying life.

However Kincaid is not something either of them planned on he’s part of Ronin's past and was a big part of his life for a long time and neither Ronin or Julia can avoid him once he’s suddenly back and they aren’t sure they want too.

Overall it’s a wonderful read and it’s not too long as it’s a novella but gives the reader the complete story as always the author gives us our HEA and does it spectacularly. If you love MI then you’ll definitely want to read this one.

Though this was just a novella, Carrie Ann packed a lot of story into it.

I loved the dynamic of the trio and that they had so much to work out but did.

No one is perfect and she clearly displays that but everyone has the right to be happy no matter what that may look like. Sometime happiness doesn't come in a conventional package.

Kincaid and Ronin have a past that neither Ronin nor his wife Julia thought would be back. When Kincaid knocks on Ronin's door however, it's something that him and Julia have to deal with. There are still feelings there and now Julia is intrigued to see where it all might lead.

The big bump in the road though is the one factor that you would think would be there and love you no matter what. Families though can also be the biggest judgement out there.

To get to their happily ever after, they have to make themselves happy and find a way to overcome the judgements of their families.

I was a bit skeptical in the beginning with how this couple was going to work with adding Kincaid into Ronin and Julia's already extremely happy and established marriage. But I shouldn't have been. Carrie Ann seamlessly fits Kincaid in, as if he was always meant to be there. She always gives us what we want but didn't know we really wanted to see. What an emotional roller coaster ride this was. But our tattooed ginger is the perfect fit to complete Julia and Ronin's family. The bond between these three is absolutely unbreakable. I truly loved their dynamic and how they took care of each of the relationships within this throuple. I laughed, I cried and I cheered them on. And boy were they hot as hell. What a great fit to add to the Boulder Series.

After reading A Very Montgomery Christmas, I was intrigued to see how Julia, Ronin, and Kincaid became about. Their story is full of past heartbreak that needs to be fixed. But when these three get together, they are hot, hot, hot. Another great novella from Carrie Ann and I always love the updates on past couples.

Wonderful poly romance! A genuinely moving second chance at love for Ronin and Kincaid as well as amazing new beginnings for Kincaid and Julia, and Ronin, Julia and Kincaid as a throuple. These three are wonderful together. I’m impressed, but not surprised, that the author managed to create a valid, believable throuple in the short timespan of a novella. My heart ached for Ronin and Kincaid both because of the pain and missed chances in their past, but it was very rewarding to see them work through that and open up to each other again, with the help of Ronin’s wife. Julia is awesome. I adore her for how brave she is, especially on an emotional level, how loving and understanding. As always in a Carrie Ann Ryan novel the connection between the main characters is heartfelt, nuanced and compelling. Recommend!

Ronin is a man who is very much in love with his wife. They have a serious, and real, discussion on how people feel about certain things. Kincaid wants to make up for past mistakes, The author does a good job at showing his apprehension about something he’s not sure of. Julia gives the reader the woman’s point of view to what is going on. We have to decide if we’re willing to be a voyeur as things develop.

You being the reader have to decide if you can be comfortable reading about a relationship that contains more than two people. The author makes everything feel comfortable, other than the characters feeling a little awkward as they figure things out in the beginning. She also includes some realism because a lot of people don’t believe in a relationship that isn’t between a man and a woman. The author doesn’t focus on that which is a good thing because that would take our story in a direction that wouldn’t be good for our characters. But it is part of their life.

Julia is naturally the one that connects Ronin and Kincaid. But we also get to see life outside this little circle. The author includes lots of emotions that may make you smile or even make you frown. There are obstacles to overcome but knowing they have someone to lean on helps. Love always helps and there’s no missing how it grows throughout this story even though there are ups and downs.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
