I hate that this book took me so long to read. It starts out eight years after the last book and so much had changed. That threw me for a loop. Really enjoyed the ending and I definitely cried over the last line. I hope on a reread I get through it faster!

I struggled through the tedious battle scenes and increasingly complicated explanations of the scriving tech, thinking this would end up being a three star read.
Then the last 100 pages, especially the epilogue, hit me and the book redeemed itself. Excellent rendered prose that didn’t feel melodramatic, though it certainly could’ve ended that way. Wonderful ending to a great series.
