I had a hard time getting into this new book in the series. I don’t know, but it didn’t fully fit for me As always though, you can expect twists and lots of emotion. The second half of the book gets better. We’ll still keep reading the series!

Ava is a remarkable heroine and strong than anyone gives her credit for. Despite everything she goes through, she still fights for her freedom from the monsters left behind. Lucky, Rebel, and Diesel has been searching for Ava all this time and now that they find her, they will never let her go. Ava knows she shouldn’t trust them but, in her heart, she feels the connection with them, and she finally feels safe. But with everything she been through the guys are protected and will wait until she is ready to move forward with them. Their journey is not easy one on any of them as they deal with the past while trying to move on with their future. But the guys need to give her room for closure, and they don’t think that why because of the mc way. So, as they have lots of drama and secrets reveal, they have to fight the monster from their past. Who will survive through the final fight of the book? And will Ava and the guys find their hea? You will have to read and find out but be prepared for oh my god moment in the end.

DNF this one. I've read many by Candice Wright and enjoyed them but this just didn't do it for me. I was excited to read more about these three guys and hopefully see more Reign but was so disappointed. AVA may have turned into a kick ass heroine but we don't get to see that transition.

Candice!!! Every time she does this to me!! This story is hauntingly beautiful. It does have parts that would be considered triggering to some, but beyond that this book is the epitome of perfection. Ava has lived through literal hell, but she escapes it. After escaping she is put away at a safe house with Lucky, Diesel, and Rebel, but she is still mentally, emotionally, and physically shattered. Watching the three guys help her become more confident in herself was beautiful, but what was even better was watching her find her confidence and take her life back, even if it was lead by revenge and the need for closure. I absolutely love this series, and I love the characters. Candice has built an incredible world with extremely detailed characters and amazing story lines. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

Holy heck balls!

I am blown away!!! I am completely in shock. Wow. What an absolutely amazing book. I have been hooked on this series since the beginning and they never let me down! Ava is stronger than anyone realizes or gives her credit for. I love that she goes from broken to badass by the end and doing what is right for her and her piece of mind. AND THEN THAT ENDING!? I just can’t. I have no words for that other than I need the next book

Surprising?

I'm not sure about this book exactly. I feel like I've been tricked. The first quarter was good with resolving some issues from book 3, but then it got kind of slow...and sort of boring. But the the last quarter of the book shook things up again and it almost felt like the heroine, Ava, was messing with my mind. In the end, I find myself confused yet eager to see what could possibly happen next.

It's hard for me to read books about recent assault survivors who fall in love again. I'm not sure why it makes me uncomfortable, because people fall in love all the time, but it just feels weird. There's this fine line where I just want the woman to control everything and it makes me feel apprehensive toward any dudes trying to get some lovin'. I'm probably not explaining this well. Sorry. But this book allows for the passage of time which helps somewhat.

I could probably write an essay on the treatment of assault survivors, but instead I'll just say that there are a lot of mistakes made by the men in this book and in the series in general, which is the intent, just to show how women are still being treated poorly by men. Instead of making assumptions on what women want, why not just ask? So, I'm loving all this misogyny and the female characters pointing it out constantly, yet still choosing to live in this MC world. Contradictions make my brain hurt, but I like that. At least the men apologize and seem to want to change.

I loved this book and Ava discovering what love and pleasure should feel like when it's on her terms with 3 hot dudes. So, all in all it's another win for me and I'll be reading the next book now.
