It ended up being predictable to me, especially after reading Behind Her Eyes. I basically guessed the entire plot in the first 15%. So I already knew what to expect and the “plot twists” didn’t get me surprised.

I love Colleen’s books and it was a good start on the genre. I think that if I hadn’t guessed the ending it would be a completely different experience, this is why I have it 3 ⭐️

What an interesting concept! This book was so fun and interesting but I didn't expecty anything less from CoHo anyway.
I lover the direction this book took and I really like the maon character. Yeah, he's not a good person and I understand why so many people hate him but I feel like I understood his motives and not all main charactes have to be some perfect cookie-cutter heroes.
What I didn't like was the flat characterization of every other character in this book including Layla, Willow and Sable. They were all very plain and since the whole twist relies on their personalities, I wish we were shown and not just told who each of them were. I really liked the twists even though I saw every single one coming but I think I would enjoy them even more if they were believable. Another thing I found hard to get over was the whole shooting thing, it just feels so unrealistic and stupid. I'm sure there was another way to get the same effect and have it be believable at the same time.
I love the "new" CoHo and the darker direction she's going in. I've seen some bad reviews from readers who prefer her old, more basic, romances but I'm really digging this suspense subgenre. I just wish she didn't rely on just the cool plot to carry the story and spent more time developing characters as well.
