Weirdly engaging
The protagonist wakes up from sleep one fine morning only to find that he is an insect now. The book explores how society, even your family attaches your value to your productivity. It is interesting to see how the Samsons' behaviour takes a 180-degree turn towards Gregor. Once Gregor, who was the hardworking breadwinner of the house was now an unwanted, dirty insect who no one could bear. He had lost his job, his father's debt rising, the lodgers' increasing nuisance and what not.
The message was hard-hitting. This classic is indeed eye-opening.

Sencillo y abierto a millones de interpretaciones sobre la enfermedad, la discapacidad, la familia y el capitalismo.
La enorme inseguridad y falta de autoestima del protagonista lo hace una experiencia muy pesada de lectura.

Beautifully written and deeply provocative! This short story is a classic for a reason. It is Kafka’s masterpiece, a work characteristic of his style which epitomizes the themes and moral quandaries that make him so pleasurable to read.
