Lovely little Christmas book
A very short Christmas book. Stars all the familiar characters. Really very little mystery involved, but still quite an enjoyable read.

Tämä pienoisromaani tai pikemminkin novelli sijoittuu Käärmeen kirouksen ja Korppikuninkaan väliin. Ruthin tytär Kate on vuoden ja kuukauden vanha, kun Ruth ostaa ensimmäisen joulukuusensa, mihin kirjan alkuperäinen nimikin viittaa.
En ymmärrä, miksi tämä pikkuinen lipare on edes päätetty julkaista omillaan, aivan hyvin olisi voinut olla jonkin kirjan lopussa. Asiaa ei tähän juurikaan mahdu (noh, Cathbad kertoo joulukuusen historiasta). Mysteerikin on tosi pintapuolinen, eikä syyllinen saa kuulla kunniaansa, sillä Ruth isoine käsilaukkuineen korjaa vääryyden vähin äänin.
Oudointa tässä on, että tarinaa kerrotaan vain 22. ja 23. joulukuuta, eli ei edes ehditä aattoon tai joulupäivään. Hyvin olisi siis voinut tuplata pituuden. En kyllä voi suositella tämän lukemista, sillä tämä ei lisää mitään tärkeää Ruth Gallowayn tarinaan, vaikka Griffithsin sujuvaa tekstiä tässä onkin.

Got this as an Amazon Free ebook, short addition for fans.
Nice idea, a little romance, and private live with a crime thrown in, but while it is clear whodunit in the end, the motive remains unknown.
Recommended if you have read all other books (which I did not, so far, also I read this out of order, will read the 2nd book in the series now). Not advised to read as a standalone.

Cute Little Story!
Love this series, and this is an adorable holiday outtake! We see most of our favorite characters, and get a great little holiday mystery. And the atmospheric quality that I personally love about this series is clear and present!
