I loved this! Maybe even more than Pride and Prejudice. It was funny and witty and I loved Emma as a character so much. She tried so hard to hook her friend up with all kinds of men and it didn't go as planned at all.

Emma may not always be likeable, but she's certainly relatable. I'm not half as good as she is at being civil and agreeable. I strongly sympathized with John Knightley.

I enjoy Jane Austen because her books are lighthearted yet compelling. Emma falls into that category but didn’t soar as high as Pride and Prejudice as far as plot and characters go. It’s a long read considering not all that much happens and Emma is not the most likeable character.

Este livro foi uma maratona para ler. Já não é o ritmo que estou habituada e houve alturas cheias de ansiedade em que pensei que não ia acabar. No geral gostei muito e valeu o esforço. :-)
