The twists were easy to pick out but the descriptions were so in-depth that I could sit and read for hours (coming from an infrequent reader). The relationships that Xiangyin created were lovely and the trust she had with herself was powerful. A new favorite.

Such a beautifully written book. I was wrapped up in it from start to finish and felt like an I went on such a journey with Xingyin. The magic system was refreshing and the characters varied and complex. The romance was sweet and I loved how it didn't consume Xingyin. She was strong and focused on her goals throughout. The mythology that it was based on was refreshingly different from other books I've read and I'm really looking forward to the next book!
