It was about 100 pages too long, and had some unnecessary plot lines IMO. It took it a long time to get good, but it did get good
Mark was a walking red flag and I knew he was involved pretty early on.

This one is an interesting one to rate for me. I want to say this book is not usually the type of thriller I enjoy, and I picked it up thinking it was something different than it was. That being said, it really did keep me reading, even if I kind of knew that I wasn't going to love the ending no matter what because of some of the storylines of the story, I still wanted to know the end.

I was left wanting a few more answers, there are quite a few missing pieces from the story, even when you get to the end, but overall it was still an enjoyable ride!

I quite enjoyed this book. It's quite short, easy to read and easy to follow.

It was quite far fetched for the most part - but for me, that's what kept me interested, the need to find out what they're going to do next.

Erin was just such a questionable character who kept making bad decisions and basically asking to get murdered.

Considering how well the book started off, the ending was a real let down. I just feel like there could've been a lot more to it.

I enjoyed this read for the most part. It was a fun summery beachside thriller and like a good thriller movie/show it was the sort of read where you’re brought along on a journey and you’re often yelling at the characters with the decisions they make and the risks they allow all in the pursuit of curiosity, wealth, and a new beginning. The first chapter was something I haven’t seen for awhile in a book starting you towards the end of the story and then working you through what brought our characters there and I enjoyed that. Probably the aspects I didn’t enjoy were some of the sidetracked info dumps from our main character and some side characters we didn’t really need. Sadly I didn’t love the ending either as I felt like they could have taken it further and maybe had the husband been involved with some of the big bads earlier on or have some of the side conflicts tie in more with our prison documentary subjects. Some things in the story just could have had more of a pay off to me but I’ll definitely read from this author again.

If books were food, this one is definitely junk food. More specifically, I decided it was Pringles  potato chips — salty good, but crumbles under too much pressure. If you’re looking for a fun read with a fast-paced plot and a strong, appealing main-character voice, this is a solid choice.
