My thoughts:
This book is creative and unique, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. The author is very talented and has a unique magic system, though. The book is fast-paced and has time traveling. It’s just a different style from what I like, but there are good things about this book.

Time travel is such a unique and fun thing to read, but it’s also very hard to pull off! And this book did it well, especially for being a young adult fantasy.

It has that easy to read charm that most YA fantasy books have, but avoided being overly cheesy (there were a few parts I couldn’t help but roll my eyes though)

My favorite part was that I really didn’t know where this book was going. Especially towards the last 100 pages. I couldn’t have once told you what was coming next, but it all worked out and has me excited for more.

2.5 stars.

It was action-packed, I’ll give it that. But I didn’t care for the writing, it lacked development in some areas, and I think “monster” is a bit of a stretch.

This book had the promise to be good but it just didn't follow through. There were so many plots all in that never even came together. I give it a 2.
