Surprised I finished it. I’ve read a few of DKs books and a lot of them revolve around characters who can’t go out in daylight, and this is no different. This is probably just me, but his use of unnecessary words is very annoying. For instance rheostat instead of dimming switch, ascertain instead of find out…he uses words people don’t normally use in every day conversation. If it were only occasionally, it wouldn’t be too bad, but it seems he goes out of his way to use that type of vernacular (see what I did there?). Anyway if you are looking for a story without much depth, action, suspense or character development, this is a book for you.

It's the second time I've read this book, and loved it the second time. Even knowing there's still only two books in the trilogy didn't dampen my enjoyment.

The science fiction was good, but the jokes were lame. Overall, this story was enjoyable.
