I can't speak to this as someone who reads poetry a lot (because trust me, I don't know how to analyse poetry, AT ALL). But there were so many poems here that really spoke to me and stirred something in my heart. A few I found lacked rhythm, but the majority of these pieces made me pause and think and absorb the author's emotions while writing - which I suppose you could call the point of poetry, no?

My favourites in this collection were those with themes of falling in love with the simplest, most fundamental things, which then become bigger, more beautiful, more significant by virtue of the fact that you love them.

Our city wins every time
When you’re living here
And we explore its sights together.
