By far one of the best books I've ever read! Even knowing the what, how and why previously to reading, it was still gripping and informative all the way through.

It is understandable why this book is one of the best selling true crime books of all time.

A nonfiction book detailing the Charles Manson family, the murders committed in his name, and the trials afterward. It was informative and held a lot of respect for the victims, but you could tell it was written by a lawyer.

Everything was written as if it was quoting solely crime reports. When we got to the court room, the author and his experience definitely brought the experience to life and added tension within the story. It just made the book even more lop-sided and overly long.

I recommend it if you are curious about the murders. They are horrifying enough without any added drama. I just felt the book read a bit too long for the writing that was in it.
