I'm going to say right off the bat this isn't my trope and I just stumbled on this and decided to read it because YOLO. But since I read the full book and gave it a chance the reason I'm rating it a ONE is because of the below reasoning. If it didn't have those themes it would have been a 2.5/3

This is porn without plot which is absolutely fine to have but it wasn't steamy?

The reason I'm giving this book one star is the age gap, underage feelings on her brothers part towards her, the fact she is 18 and DRUNK several times when he is 29 and KNOWS better.

I'm new to Q.B Tyler and I've never read taboo done so well! In all honesty I love taboo and forbidden romance but if done incorrectly it can give you the ick! But not Q.B Tyler!

This was super taboo but hot as all hell.

James and Gabrielle are adoptive siblings. Gabrielle was adopted at age 2 and at the time James was 13 years old. Since Gabrielle joined the family they have been attached at the hip. James has always taken a protective roll over Gabrielle even more than his biological sister. Gabrielle through the years of becoming a woman has noticed her feelings towards James changing. When Gabrielle turns 18 things start to change and the tension is THICC.

One thing I loved was that the book didn't focus on the backlash of the relationship. It very much was glossed over in a way that made me able to fall more in love with the MCs.

My one complaint is that I wanted more of them because they were just flippin cute. They were a swoon worthy couple and I jus loved their relationship. Gabrielle was just so sure and confident. James was the same, confident that he would never do anything to ruin their relationship.

Ughh my heart. I can't wait to read more from Q.B Tyler.

I read the novella in the “Twisted Christmas” collection and absolutely enjoyed the short story. I was so excited for the full length book because I liked it so much. However I was also a little doubtful because I was scared that the full length book would ruin the story. Thankfully It didn’t. You get so much more of the characters and their relationship and their backstory. The full length book is actually even better than the novella.
This is a taboo/ forbidden romance story. He’s her adoptive brother.
I personally really enjoyed reading more about Gabrielle and James.
If you like taboo romances you should definitely read this.
