Pierce does it again! Always finds a way to make me love and hate him at the same time, but nonetheless it's yet another fantastic book in the red rising series. Can't wait for the next!

I'm on my second book since finishing this one but I will say the series has been great! I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment!

I don't give 5 stars often, but I have to say this one very much deserved it.

Unlike previous books, the plot pacing on this book was incredibly well done. There were a few chapters here and there that seemed out of place, but overall this book kept my attention pretty much constantly. The character moments stumbled here and there, but the ones where people chose to fight against all odds or hope when they shouldn't hit hard and really carried the novel.

My minor criticisms are on the length (I think it could have been shorter and more condensed) and that more emotional and character moments could have been worked into the breakneck pace of the plot.
