Read this book in a week. I really enjoyed it, I was surprised because I wouldn't normally something like this but thoroughly enjoyed it. Really easy to follow and the characters were easy to get attached to, so to speak. The girls in the book are strong but its nice to see they have weakness's as well as being strong willed and independent. Worth reading if you want to read something easy to follow with a good story line that's not too serious.

This book is genuinely awful. I loved Sparkles and gave it credit for being chicklit with a little bit extra, but this book...it's like she didn't put any thought into it.

I was under the impression that this would be like Bergdorf Blondes or Sex in the City so I wasn't ready to read something similar. Lately I have been moving away from that Chick Lit stuff. While this was still Chick Lit it told the story through 3 completely different girls. Bagshawe took her time to tell the story of each girl. There were times when I would have prefered to read about one girl over the other but i liked all three which is surprising to me. I definitely suggest this if you wanna step away from that single-girl-in-the-city-working-16-hour-days-but-still-has-a-life type of book.

I don't know how to rate this, 2 or 3 stars. Because sure it's a fun read and I wanted to finish it to know how it would. However. In the beginning, three friend are rich and happy together. Then, they all lose something major and lose contact. Then, they all get rich again and find each other. Then, they start GLAMOUR. They all find love (again). They fight, they make up. And they're all either married or engaged. Happily. And I just, what???? The way they fall in love is just utterly ridiculous! It's like they look at their man and they just melt????? Inside and out?????? They just lose all characteristics they had before and they become a submissive sex doll, at first I was like aw that's cute it's true love but I actually find it enormously stupid and incredible. Like, as in; not credible. At all. Whatever, it was only 1€ anyway

I so wanted to love this book. After reading Sparkles, which I absolutely adored, I was really looking forward to reading another book by Louise Bageshawe. Glamour had everything going for it: 3 powerful women, the test of true friendship, gorgeous guys and even a really good story line. But what made me only rate it 3 stars is how disconnected I felt from the characters about 2/3 through this book. After almost 300 pages of thinking what brilliant characters these were and that I really knew them, I suddenly felt like I was reading a completely different book and I no longer cared what happened to them. Also, what got on nerves was that one minute it was all 'girl power' (excuse the cheesiness!!) and not needing a man to being completely dependent and not being able to function without having a man in your life. Completely chliched.

What I did love about the book though was the personalities of the 3 women, each so so different and yet all believably (although not all of the time) gain wealth and success in their lives. The pace also made the first 300 pages really comfortable reading, but that did seem to change and everything felt a bit rushed after that.

All in all, not one of Bageshawe's best reads. I'm definitely going to check out her other books though, I'm hoping this one was just a blip!

Fave trash read so far. Utterly cliched with love interests for the texas blond bombshell, the english rose, and the middle east beauty. Includes a baseball star, a billionaire, and royalty. Heaps of cliched lines, I lapped it up.

This book is utterly ridiculous. There is not a single thing I found authentic about any of the characters, and the actual plot was so implausible (and non-existent) that I have no idea how anyone could think it makes any sense. And yet, in some weird way, I found myself enjoying this. Oh, I don't think Glamour is any good, but I personally liked reading a ridiculous rags-to-riches book for a change. In another review (where the book in question was far better than here, it must be said) I mentioned that I enjoyed reading it for the same reason I like eating at Burgerfuel sometimes. This would be more like McDonalds. Or Pizza Hut

which apparently is not actually as bad in other countries. To clarify: In New Zealand, the first slice of Pizza Hut pizza is edible/enjoyable. After that it's about as pleasant as eating cardboard

Anyway my point is, this is not a good book, but I liked it. I also enjoyed bashing it after reading ( metaphorically, of course - the book itself remains in fine condition). Hours of fun either way.
