You’ll laugh, you’ll sad-cry, you’ll happy-cry. An absolute delight.

Anne of Green Gables is one of my favourite books ever. Anne is such a likeable, relatable, amazing character, and I love her as much now as I did when I was seven and reading this book for the first time! All of the characters are amazing, but my favourites are definitely Anne, Gilbert, and Marrilla. I had forgotten how snarky and sassy she was because it's been a while since I've reread this book, but she definitely had some of my favourite lines. I loved seeing Anne grow throughout the book, and I really liked Marrilla's character development. I think that anyone over seven could (and should, honestly) read this book! The language is easy to understand, it has great characters, and it teaches a lot of good lessons.

I never thought I would love Anne of Green Gables as much as I do!

This was honestly not a book I ever really planned on reading and it was totally a cover buy when I got the Puffin in Bloom edition. I got the book for my birthday and I felt like fall would be the best time to read it in, so I waited until September first and the air was just nippy enough. And I loved it!

I found Anne to be a bit annoying when she first arrived at Green Gables. I'm a bit more like Marilla where I like less talking most of the time. But Anne did remind me of myself a bit. I had hoards of imaginary friends and I never really had a bosom friend growing up. Mathew is my favorite character, he is such a sweetie and he loves Anne so much from their first meeting.

I have to admit that I had to hold back from sobbing in the restaurant I finished reading this book in. My buddy was bartending and I warned him that I might cry. He was cool with it, but I didn't want to scare away the other costumers. I also didn't need anyone asking me what's wrong and I'd have to explain that books make me cry.

Anne of Green Gables is now an all time favorite and I will be reading the rest of the books
