I was really contemplating how many stars I was going to give this book. The plot at the end was surprisingly good and I realized that I continued reading because of the storyline. Usually with these type of books I don’t really care about the storyline. But this surprised me and I actually ended up liking the characters. Also liked the Romance aspect because it was a bit different and also violent or toxic. Anyway I really like the dark aspect of the book but I didn’t get why it also had to have this sort of ending. It really annoys me that every single romance  book has the same last chapter.

This book is on another level of "is your mental state tough enough to read this". I didn't expect it to be so dark and torturing. The romance as always was on point, but it was so tense to see how it all works out and if they even can have a HEA. Vaughn is a tortured artist with a lot of demons and baggage in his past. Lenora is a tough and feisty character with abandonment issues. I do love this series, but the level of disturbance I got from this book is above average. Maybe I should have read the trigger warnings, but I would have read the book nonetheless. Read with caution and don't take fiction too seriously, it's all imagined and not real. Every-fucking-shade of fucked-up is not real in this book. So don't have nightmares, just be sad for the characters.
