This book was sweet and sour; there was a lot of hurt and love in Zezé’s family.
I could picture 1920’s Brazil thoroughly through this book too ❤️
I also appreciated Portuga and Zezé’s friendship. It was devastating to lose Portuga in the end and the trauma endured was saddening. Definitely not what I was expecting 😫
I’m giving this 3.5 out of 5 stars, thank you ✨ I can understand why people might deem this a classic.

This is an incredibly well-written book, seems lighthearted but is actually so meaningful. Would recommend this book to anyone really, that's how good it is.
Moderate: Death and Domestic abuse
